Sustenance is a curated chamber music concept album that links several distinct pieces with electronic interludes, or “passages”, by mastermind electronic composer, Peter Gilbert. The works, all in their premiere recordings, range from the jocular to the sensuous, and are by some of the most exciting emerging composers writing in the United States. The intrepid New York guitarist Daniel Lippel leads the effort along with stellar colleagues- soprano Elizabeth Weigle, flutist Erin Lesser, percussionist Jeffrey Irving, and Lippel’s high powered quartet, Flexible Music.
